First, we as humans built shelters to protect ourselves from our climate. Sometime later, we began to adapt our shelters to have meaning beyond our basic needs. We now call this architecture. It is perhaps the first and still the most powerful media that can communicate ideas across space and time.

 
 

 
 

Interior Design

 

Interior design is a subset of architecture. In some cases it is separated from the architecture of the building, but can still deliver a powerful message. At its best, interior design and the architecture of the building are married, delivering a unified message.

 
 
 

 
 

Master Planning

 
 

Good design is always a search to achieve the difficult whole. Often we develop master plans that guide development well beyond a single building site. A visionary outcome is achieved when the design of an entire campus or neighborhood is aligned toward a cohesive goal.

Environmental Graphic Design

 
 

We recognize that modern media has the ability to expand the meaning of both architecture and interior design. In response, we launched the Media-Objectives studio to explore how experiential media, including wayfinding, signage, exhibition, installation, brand identity, print, video and other modern media enhances the message of our designs.

 
 

 
 

Research

 

Every one of our projects begins by listening - first. All too often design work begins before the questions the design is supposed to answer are fully understood. Our research includes stakeholder interviews, immersions, best practices, user surveys and other tools to fully understand the needs and define the vision for the outcome.
